Certificate of Education
(AICE)
The Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) is a globally-minded international diploma program through the University of Cambridge that allows students to earn college credits while still in high school. The AICE program allows students to tailor their educational experience towards their strengths and qualify for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship. This program is nationally and globally recognized for its merit in preparing students for postsecondary success.
Ocoee High School is offering AICE so our students may,
earn an international high school diploma in addition to a regular high school diploma
take classes with other academically motivated students
be prepared for rigorous college coursework
have academic and elective flexibility with their course of study
earn college credit hours while still in high school
qualify for the Florida Bright Future Scholarship Academic Scholar Award
Pre-AICE
To prepare incoming students for AICE diploma study, OHS is offering Pre-AICE courses for 9th and 10th graders. These courses have been specifically designed to align to both Florida State standards and include key elements of the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) syllabi to help prepare students for diploma study. These specially tailored courses will easily allow students to complete their necessary 9th and 10th grade graduation requirements while equipping them with the study skills needed to succeed in the Cambridge international diploma program. Students were hand-selected for our pre-AICE program of study based on their 8th grade ELA and Math test scores, and may choose at their discretion to continue on for the AICE diploma at the conclusion on their freshman year.
